The purpose of the Office of Professional Standards & Labor Relations is to support the educational mission of Brevard Public Schools by promoting a safe, ethical, and accountable workplace where professional standards are consistently upheld. Guided by a vision of integrity, fairness, and organizational excellence, the office works to ensure compliance with applicable laws, School Board policies, administrative procedures, and collective bargaining agreements while fostering a culture of trust, professionalism, and shared responsibility across the District.

In alignment with this purpose, the office supports collaborative and constructive labor relations through good-faith negotiations with the Brevard Federation of Teachers and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1010. By promoting clear communication, consistent interpretation of negotiated agreements, and the development of fair and enforceable contract language, the office advances the District’s vision of maintaining positive employee relations and a workplace environment to serve every student with excellence as the standard.
