We love seeing how Sphero robots are being used across Brevard classrooms!

At Challenger 7 Elementary, 6th-grade scientists in Ms. Van Vuren's class worked with Sphero Minis in Mrs. Albrecht's STEM Lab to explore concepts of force and motion. Students tested how movement, speed, and direction affected their results.

At Ralph Williams Elementary, 4th-grade students reinforced multiplication facts using Sphero indi. They turned math practice into an interactive experience that encouraged critical thinking and engagement.

At Tropical Elementary, 5th-grade students used Sphero BOLT robots to calculate area and perimeter, bringing math concepts to life through movement and hands-on learning.

It's amazing to see how these robots get students moving, collaborating, problem solving, and applying what they have learned in new ways! While the robots certainly make learning exciting, the true impact is how they increase student engagement, encourage collaboration, and provide authentic opportunities for students to apply classroom concepts in meaningful ways.

Join BrevardEdTech for a hands-on professional learning experience focused on creativity, visual storytelling, and student engagement. Participants will spend the morning learning from Canva trainers, exploring tools and strategies for designing engaging instructional materials and student projects. In the afternoon, BrevardEdTech will lead educators through Adobe Express, showcasing powerful features for creating graphics, videos, web pages, and other multimedia learning experiences.

Brevard Teachers enjoyed the BrevardEdTech Connect: Mini-Conference on July 15 and 16! Our Technology Integrators and Digital Learning Leaders hosted a Science/STEM Make-and-Take and STEM breakout sessions, and Sphero delivered a wonderful robotics session to support our K-12 teachers. We sincerely thank Lockheed Martin, for supporting our Science/STEM Tech Ambassador Mentorship Program! Your investment empowers teachers with STEM-focused professional learning, mentorship, technology integration, and real-world science experiences that inspire students across Brevard Public Schools!

STEM, conservation, and a day full of learning! Our Tech integrators had a great experience at the 2026 Everglades Teacher Symposium. They got to explore the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, learned about Florida’s native wildlife and conservation efforts, and put their engineering skills to the test by designing wildlife STEM bridges. We’re excited to bring these real-world learning opportunities back to classrooms across our district.

On May 4th, students at Golfview Elementary Magnet School engaged in an academic field day. One event was Breakout EDU boxes! Students used their understanding of text features to solves puzzles and break out! #brevardedtech

In an effort to build a comprehensive understanding of AI's role in Brevard Public Schools, BPS representatives from across departments gathered for the first of several collaborative sessions. Following a keynote presentation, attendees collaborated to devise solutions for integrating AI into workflows more efficiently. This collaborative project, involving BPS, Connection I.T. For two weeks, Mrs. Pierce’s 5th graders did conversation-related activities from Guy Harvey Foundation, The Everglades Foundation's Everglades Literacy Program, and Aquatic WILD. Students had fun tracking sharks, learning about impacts to sea turtles, and learning about the flow of the Everglades! Friday, April 17th #Brevardedtech facilitated a Nature Meets Tech Training at Rotary Park in Suntree. The team pulled conservation-themed lessons from The Everglades Foundation's Everglades Literacy Program, Guy Harvey Foundation, and Project/Aquatic WILD from Brevard Zoo PD and added tech. Rather than taking the usual 1 hour lunch out to eat, the integrator team grilled and participants brought sides and desserts! The day ended with a trash cleanup around the pavilion. This was an amazing day of learning, collaborating and recharging for all!

The METS Academy fifth graders participated in Tropical Elementary School Solar Race Event this past Wednesday. The conditions were perfect! It was exciting and there were many ups and downs as we used the Engineering Design Process to design, build, and modify our cars.
The winning team was represented by both Tropical and MILA students: S. Day, I. Walker, and A. Williams.
Many thanks to the Florida Solar Energy Center and BPS STEM Program for lending the inspiration, track, and supplies.

On April 9th Brevard Public Schools celebrated the Destination Moon Award Ceremony at The Astronauts Memorial Foundation Center for Space Education! The Destination Moon team was thrilled with the support from so many elected officials and community partners as well as district leadership. Thank you, Mike Haridopolos, for speaking to our students and congratulating every winning team! Also, we were thrilled to share this program with representatives from Space Florida, from Emery Riddle, representatives from Senator Scott's office and from Senator Moody's office on the national level, state Representative Tyler Sirois, state Senator Tom Wright, and county commission Thad Altman. In addition, we appreciate the support from Brevard Public Schools (official) Superintendent Dr. Rendell, Katye Campbell, Brevard County School Board Member, and BPS CIO Russell Cheatham. Your attendance was greatly appreciated by our students and teachers!

Manatee Elementary first graders used their iPads for a standard-based science lesson about plants. They identified plant structures and recorded their knowledge about the functions! Way to go, students!

Thursday was Day 2 of our Destination Moon Competition 🌑🚀It was another great day of seeing the students’ creativity and their excitement for space! We were to have Katye Campbell, Brevard County School Board Member, District 5 volunteer her time to judge in the Minecraft room!
