Absences

Unexcused Absences

Just a reminder that students who accrue 10 or more unexcused absences during a semester in any period shall be ineligible for school activities, events, and sport participation until the next semester.

BPS recognizes several reasons that a student may miss school with an excused absence.

All other absences from school are considered unexcused.

Parent Notes are for sickness only and are for FULL days only for students.  If students come in late because they were sick, their absence will not be covered under the Parent Note.  If students leave school early and do NOT check directly out of clinic, it will be an absence.  If a student checks directly out of the clinic (meaning they do not return to class because they are too sick) the remainder of the day will be "E" and excused.

So bottom line:  Parent Notes are for sickness and full days only.
