Stevenson Families,
What a truly fantastic week it's been! We've had so many wonderful moments to celebrate, and I'm bursting with pride for our amazing students and staff. It was a real highlight to welcome our Superintendent, Dr. Rendell, to the school. He had the opportunity to witness the incredible learning taking place in Mrs. Duncan's kindergarten class and Ms. Jarvis's math class, and I know he was as impressed as we are with the engagement and enthusiasm of our students. Speaking of impressive, a huge round of applause to all our readers who conquered the March Beanstack challenge! Reading 300+ minutes is a fantastic accomplishment, and we're so proud of your dedication. Don't forget, the April challenge is now live, with Mrs. Monroe offering some exciting prizes, and a special reading challenge from the Superintendent for our 2nd grade classes!
Today's Stepping Stones event was a heartwarming success as we welcomed our newest little penguins to the Stevenson family. The joy and excitement were palpable, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces. A massive thank you to our incredible volunteers and a special shout-out to Mrs. Barrons, Ms. Jess, Mrs. Duncan, and Ms. Jarvis for their hard work in organizing such a memorable event. Mr. DeVries' STEAM class also wrapped up the thrilling Great Stevenson Race, and we're eagerly anticipating celebrating the students' innovative creations. Also, next week we'll be cheering on our 4th-6th grade students as they participate in the 4H speech competition. I can't wait to hear their thoughtful and well-prepared speeches and see who will move on to the county competition!
What truly makes Stevenson Elementary special is the character of our students. On Wednesday, Ardas, Clete, Blake, Rocco, Lola, Lauren, Amelia, Roland, Stella, and Mrs. Sonberg spontaneously jumped in to help with some weeding and sidewalk sweeping. Their selfless act of kindness exemplifies our vision of excellence in character, and we're incredibly grateful for their help.
Looking ahead, please join us next Friday for a volunteer meeting at 9:10 AM in the cafeteria, and don't forget it's also a paid out of uniform day with a fun spring theme! It's clear that we have a very busy, but exciting, month and a half ahead of us. Thank you, as always, for your unwavering support. Have a wonderful and restful weekend! I'll see you Monday in the car loop!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fleeger
