Principal Message

Stevenson Families,

We’ve had a truly wonderful week at Stevenson Elementary, and it’s all thanks to YOU—our amazing families! Our OM and Innovation Games meetings were well attended, and today’s volunteer meeting was another great success. Your involvement makes a real difference, and we are so appreciative of your continued support.

A special shout-out goes to the 181 families who found and answered last week’s hidden question! You’ve earned 30 minutes of volunteer service—thank you for reading our messages and staying informed. We love seeing our families engaged and connected to what’s happening at school.

Today marks the end of our Read-a-Thon, and we can’t wait to see which students will win the top prizes for minutes read and pledges collected. Thank you for encouraging a love of reading at home and helping make this event such a success. We will announce the class and student winners next week.

Next week, we will begin checking for uniform compliance. (The uniform policy is listed on page 13 of the Parent Handbook.) Please make sure your child is dressed according to our school’s uniform policy. This includes correct uniform bottoms, belts for students in grades 1–6, appropriate footwear, and uniform shirts tucked in. We appreciate your help in keeping our students looking sharp and ready to learn.

Dismissal procedures are improving each day, and we thank you for your patience and cooperation. To help us continue streamlining the process, please keep your student’s name tag visibly displayed in your car window until your child is safely inside the vehicle. This helps us match students to cars quickly and safely. Also, please remember that any changes to dismissal plans must be communicated directly to your child’s teacher and the front office via email at stevensonelementary@brevardschools.org. Changes in dismissal made only through the app will not be accepted.

Finally, next week our Kindergarten through second grade students will begin their first round of the state FAST progress monitoring assessments. These assessments help us establish a baseline to guide instruction and support learning in the classroom.

Thank you again for your partnership and engagement. We’re proud to work alongside such a dedicated and caring school community. Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you Monday in the car loop!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fleeger
