Girls in Construction Summer Camp Builds Skills, Confidence at Viera High School
The Girls in Construction Summer Camp at Viera High School is in full swing—and these students are proving they’ve got what it takes.
From the first swing of a hammer to completing hands-on projects, participants are diving into building basics and real-world trade skills. Each day brings a new opportunity to learn by doing, try something new, and step outside their comfort zones.
But this camp is about more than just tools and techniques. It’s about building confidence.
Students are gaining a deeper understanding of what they’re capable of while exploring career pathways they may have never considered before. Whether they’re measuring, cutting, assembling, or troubleshooting, they’re rising to every challenge—and doing it with determination, creativity, and pride.
Experiences like this open doors. They show young women that the construction and skilled trades industries are not only accessible but full of exciting opportunities for growth and success.
A big thank you to NAWIC Space Coast 355 and RUSH Construction, Inc. for their partnership and commitment to empowering the next generation of builders. Their support is helping create meaningful, hands-on experiences that leave a lasting impact.
As the camp continues, one thing is clear—these students aren’t just learning how to build. They’re building confidence, skills, and a strong foundation for the future.
