Students that apply to take the yearbook elective should be ready to work hard with the rest of the staff as a team, learn about journalism, develop photography/graphic design skills, and create special memories for the students at Johnson Middle School as they create our school’s yearbook. Students will learn the skills needed to create a high-quality publication that is released in the spring. Students will be responsible for taking photos, conducting interviews of students/staff, selling advertising space to local businesses, writing articles to be included in the book, graphic design/layouts of the book, and marketing the book to our school community. Additionally, students are expected to put in time working outside of class to ensure that publishing deadlines are completed on time.
