As Lacrosse Season Wraps Up, Players Reflect on the Season by Chloe Strong

The lacrosse season was more than just games and practices; it was about friendships. Sophomore Hunter Paige's best part of the season was simply hanging out with the team, forging bonds that extended beyond the field. Paige said, “My favorite thing about lacrosse is getting to hangout with all my friends on the team, especially Eli Hulen”. The laughter and shared experiences created memories that would last long after the final whistle blew. It was a brotherhood built on a  shared passion and the simple joy of spending time together.

Game day was a ritual, a carefully spread out sequence of events designed to prepare. The way Paige prepares is crucial for a successful game. Paige said, “ I prepare for games by eating a pregame meal with Eli Hulen before every game and then Eli and I practice shooting”. Paige emphasizes the dedication to preparation. Each repetition was a step closer to peak performance, a testament to dedication and a desire to excel.

As the season drew to a close, a bittersweet feeling settled in. The victories were celebrated, the defenders analyzed, but most of all, the shared journey was cherished. However, the end of the season didn't mean the end of the journey. Paige said, “ I'm very sad to see the season end but over the summer I am going to play at space coast lacrosse to get better for the next season.” He demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement. The pursuit of excellence was a year-round endeavor.
