Melbourne High’s Volleyball team isn’t just about the sport, they are also a family, Marley Sliwinski, a senior whose position is a defensive specialist, played a pivotal role throughout her senior season. "I've been playing volleyball for 4 years," Sliwinski said, reflecting on her experience and growth within the sport. As a defensive specialist, she was responsible for anticipating the ball's trajectory, making quick, accurate digs, and setting up plays for her teammates. Her skill and leadership skills were central to the team's success.

Known for her consistency, Sliwinski followed a personal ritual that she believed brought her good luck. "Every game, I wear a red hair tie for good luck," Sliwinski shared. This tradition was something she cherished, adding an extra layer of motivation for her during each match. Her commitment and focus on the court were clear, and her teammates often turned to her for guidance, especially during high-pressure moments. Despite the challenges they faced, Sliwinski remained determined to help her team secure the district title.
