A NEW CHAPTER. Members of the book club gather together to discuss about what book they will read next. Anielle Wight (12), the club president discussed with members in Ms. Braun’s room about what they should read first, before coming to a conclusion. When Wight was asked what what genre she wanted the book to be, she said, “I hope to read more fantasy novels this year in book club, I like the genre and other members seem to like it too”. The Book Club is where stories come to life and readers find their voice. Every Tuesday morning, students would gather in Ms. Braun's room and shared their thoughts on exciting novels and timeless classics. The club welcomed everyone, whether they were readers or just beginning to explore the world of books. From mysteries to fantasy, each meeting gave chance to dive new worlds and connect with others who love reading just as much.

In the past few meetings, the book club members had been voting for the next book to read. During meetings, students would analyze themes, share favorite quotes, and explore the author’s message in lively group conversations. Occasionally, guest speakers such as English teachers joined to share insights about writing and storytelling. Beyond discussions, the club became a safe space for all members. “I strive to make the book club a safe space, so when arguments happen, I really value communication” Anielle Wight said.

The Book Club isn’t just about reading— it is about community, creativity, and curiosity. Every chapter read brought students closer together, inspiring friendship built through shared imagination and thoughtful dialogue. Members often said the club helped them see reading as more than a hobby-it’s a journey that sparked empathy and new perspectives, with each book they opened, the Book Club continued to write its own story-one filled with laughter, learning, and a love for words. And for those wishing to join, Wight said, “Everyone is welcomed to join, we don’t just value the books, but also the people in it”.
