Behind The Scenes Of The Varsity Homecoming Game by Anabella Mulligan
On Oct 11th, the stands were packed as the varsity team took the field for the long awaited homecoming game. Fans cheered, the band played, and school spirit filled in the air. While fans focused on touchdowns and tackles, Tyquez Harris and many others worked hard behind the scenes to make the night unforgettable. From early practices to game day routines, every moment led up to this game. He said, “By staying focused on football and not giving up has led me to where I am.”
Before kickoff, Harris spent the afternoon in the locker room reviewing plays and getting his mind ready for the big game. Coaches went over strategies while the team shared quiet moments of focus and encouragement. Outside, the cheerleaders rehearsed, and the homecoming court prepared for their halftime walk. Harris knew the pressure was on, but he stayed locked in, determined to give the crowd something to cheer for. Harris said, “I’m really proud of my team this season I feel like we worked really hard, and it showed in the homecoming game.”
When the final whistle blew, the hard work had paid off. Harris left everything on the field, proud of the effort his team put in. After the game, he took photos with his friends. That night showed what homecoming is truly about teamwork, pride, and dedication. For Harris, it was more than just a game, it was a night he would never forget.
