French Wonders and Culture in French Club by Paige Allen

The French club met early on Thursday mornings to explore french culture, food language, and fun and creativity. Club member Brooklyn Keossy, in 9th grade, shared that the meetings started around 8:00- 8:15 in the morning. Students got to try new foods, learned french customs and practiced the language together.”It was very productive,” Keossy  said.

Keossy joined the french club the day it started because she had already chosen to take the class as well. She explained that she picked the class because “A lot of people speak it’ she wanted to learn a language she already knew some things about the language, and it could fun and useful. The teacher, Madame Rebecca Cortois led students in cultural lessons, and activities that helped them appreciate french traditions. Brooklyn mentioned that one of her favorite lessons was learning that French fries aren’t actually from France.

Keossy said that French has helped her because she “gets to try new foods” and learn more about the world outside of school.”French club is an  entertaining and great environment” Brooklyn said in the interview. The french club gives students chance to connect, explore, and discover the language.
