Focused Faith: First Priority is giving students opportunities to exercise their faith in front of other students. As well as time for fellowship. Students here at Melbourne High School are surrounded by secular belief systems and people. But First Priority has opened the way for Christians to partake in a kind of youth group. Mrs. Carrie Friday, the librarian and sponsor of First Priority has said “... the students are amazing…” and “...First Priority is an important part of the week for these students…”. Students come to pray, listen, and learn, as well as to simply spend time with one another in the name of the Lord. Photo By: Aiden Kehayias

To commence every Christian convocation of First Priority, every constituent was capable of conversing in congenial conversation. First Priority meetings are a time where anyone can come to fellowship and learn more about God and His will. Each meeting takes the weekly message from the First Priority app as a way to lead the discussion among the attendees, and under the current leadership and by God, the meetings have grown healthily in attendance. All are welcome, and the Fridays encourage the youth to come join them each Thursday morning in the media center.

Mrs. Carrie Friday, the librarian and sponsor of First Priority, has been involved in the group, both here and at other schools, for a collective 17 years. She has sponsored the club at four different schools “...three high schools, and one middle school”. Ms. Friday’s daughter, Ansleigh Friday, is the President of the club and she has one major goal “...to reach as many people as possible. I feel a lot of my decisions are based on my relationship with God.” Ansleigh Friday said “Our leadership team does a good job of balancing what the bible says and how everyone can apply it in their lives."

First Priority is, alongside church and youth groups, an important part of the lives of the attendees; it’s a time for fellow members to discuss the word of God or even just their past weeks. All are welcome to First Priority to learn, discuss, and rejoice.
