The 60th Annual AFJROTC Military Ball took place on January 17th, 2026, at Holiday Inn, in Viera. The event brought cadets together for an evening of celebration and traditions. Many had been looking forward to this event since the start of the school year, as it honored achievements and years of hard work. The night began with a sense of anticipation that carried through the evening.

The event included a formal dinner, introducing new staff, and dancing. A highlight of the night was the speech by a retired Navy SEAL, who shared stories and experiences about perseverance. Cadet Darla Sheckler said, “The speech of the Navy SEAL was the highlight of the night.” She further explained, “It showed the difficulties they faced and how they overcame them. It was inspirational.” When asked what she would remember about this event for years to come, she said, “It reminded everyone that even though ROTC is formal at times, we are all one big community.” The military ball also had guests who were invited by the students. Anna Agarie, one of the guests said, “Being at the Military Ball has made me look at cadets with more respect.” Agarie, like many other guests and cadets said, “The Navy SEAL speech really touched my heart, it made me realise the hardships, the trial and tribulation that the people who fight for our country face.” When asked if the experience was as good as how she imagined it would be, she said, “It was exactly how I imagined it. Everyone was really kind and no one made me feel like I wasn’t a part of ROTC.”

The Military Ball celebrated the achievements of the AFJROTC community. Cadets created memories with one another while honoring the year’s accomplishments. Many people looked forward to future events and continuing their roles of service and leadership.
