The Perks Of Being A Yearbook Student by Chloe Strong
From Friday-night lights to final page deadlines, yearbook staff members work behind the scenes to capture moments that define the school year. For many students, being part of yearbook is more than taking photos or writing captions it is a chance to grow, collaborate, and leave a lasting mark on the school.
Junior sports editor Lucie Frank said being on yearbook had been a meaningful experience for her. Frank said, “I enjoyed capturing moments from games and knowing those memories would last for years.” She explained that her leadership role helped her grow, adding, “Being sports editor helped me stay organized and more confident.” Frank also noted the importance of teamwork, saying, “Working with others taught me how to communicate better and manage deadlines.”
Sophomore Juliette Contreras, a first-year yearbook staff member, said joining yearbook had been a new and exciting opportunity. Contreras said, “I wanted to try something new and be more involved in school.” She shared that learning the process was one of her favorite parts, explaining, “I liked learning how everything works and being part of a team.” Contreras also added, “It helped me become more creative and step outside my comfort zone.”
Both Frank and Contreras said yearbook had helped them develop important skills. Frank said, “Yearbook taught me responsibility and time management,” while Contreras said, “Being on yearbook helped me become more creative and responsible.” They agreed that yearbook had been a positive and rewarding way to get involved in school and build skills for the future.
