Career Research and Decision Making Importance by Princess Islam

Here at Melbourne High, Career Research and Decision Making is a class of importance; it's an important source of helpful information. This class is open to many students, looking for answers. There are many students wondering what their future could look like, and how to get there. This class, open to all, has a been a very valuable place to gather thoughts, information, and possibilities. This is especially true for 11th grade student, Emily Faye.  

Through the four years of highschool, each student in each grade is going through different chapters in their lives. Figuring out what’s next after highschool is very important, and can be tedious on those who may not have a big idea of what they want to do. Conversations with guidance counselors, teachers, and parents, often help students figure it out. This process is different for everyone, its best to start thinking about these things as soon as 9th grade. Career Research and Decision Making class is the perfect classroom for students of all grades, to asses these thoughts, and are given time to think over things, building a better view of what they might want to do in the future. Faye said, “Taking Career Research and Decision Making class, has been a big help.”  

Around junior year many students have a general idea or plan for what's next. “Not only is the class easy to navigate, I can also be productive by exploring possible career options.” said Faye. The teacher of Career Research and Decision Making, Mr. Thompson believes this class presents students with “Motivation to learn.” According to Mr. Thompson students enjoy this class because, “This class gives students time to get work done, while learning about future possibilities to consider.” This class is rather easy going, with all of the other classes and other activities that partake in, Career Research and Decision Making gives them the chance to breathe. Mr. Thompson said, “When students walk into this classroom, they seem at ease, and ready to learn.” Many students take this class expecting the hard work, but finding it rather peaceful, and useful. Faye said, “With the calm atmosphere, and perfect learning environment, I find that I grow as a student.”
