Ready and in gear for Robotics by Paige Allen

Robotics team members of Melbourne High school, Rachel Agarie and Sophie Yang helped lead their team to a third-place finish at a competition held at the UCF Stadium from March 18 through March 22. The team was held against multiple schools and demonstrated strong teamwork throughout the competition. “It’s such a cool and neat expreince” Agarie said. Agarie worked in team operations, helping manage social media and outreach to the students, while Yang contributed in her own role supporting the team. “It was really exciting to see all our hard work pay off,” Yang said. Their combined efforts helped the team stand out among schools.

Agarie explained that her job included keeping the team organized and communicating the updates. “I helped with social media and outreach so everyone could stay connected,” Agarie said. She said the multi-day event required hardwork and cooperation from everyone in the club. Yang agreed and said the experience brought the team closer together. “We had to rely on each other a lot during the competition,” Yang said.

At the end of the event, the team earned third place, which showed their preparation and teamwork. Being is robotics is clearly a club that requires dedication “Its a lot of hard work and effort that's put into it.” Yang said. Agarie said she learned valuable skills such as responsibility and communication through robotics. “Working together made everything more successful,” she said. Yang added that the competition helped her grow as a team member and problem-solver. Overall, both students said the experience was rewarding and showed the importance of collaboration.
