Seniors VS Faculty staff Volleyball by Samiyah Evans
The seniors vs. faculty volleyball game at Melbourne High brought energy to the gym as students gathered to watch the matchup. While the game showcased competition between upperclassmen and staff, many underclassmen focused on what their own futures could look like. The event gave younger students a glimpse into traditions they hoped to be part of one day. The excitement in the stands reflected more than just school spirit—it showed inspiration building among the next class of players.
Freshman Cali Copeland watched the game closely and imagined herself participating in the event as a senior. Copeland said the fast-paced game and strong teamwork stood out to her as something she wanted to experience in the future. She explained that watching older students compete made the idea of senior year feel more real and exciting. “It made me really look forward to being a senior because it seems like a fun way to end high school,” Copeland said. She added, “Seeing how involved everyone was made me want to be part of it one day,” Copeland said.
Freshman Sahmyra Walker also attended the game and focused on the atmosphere created by the crowd and players. Walker said the support from students in the stands made the event more enjoyable and encouraged her to stay involved in school activities. She explained that events like the game helped build connections between different grade levels. “It looked like everyone was having a good time, and it made me want to go to more events,” Walker said. “I hope I can play in something like that when I’m older,” Walker
