Environmental Science Trip by Princess Islam
Here at Melbourne High School, students take learning to higher stakes in Environmental Science class. After all the hard work students have put in through the year, they were rewarded with a field trip. This is especially true for 12th grader student, Charlotte Daner.
Students that take Environmental Science, can not only learn new interesting things in the classroom but also out in the real world, through their many informative field trips. Mrs. Collins said, “With our field trips, students are able to have a visual view of what Environmental Science is all about.” Since the beginning of the school year, students in this class have spent their time learning about their impact on the environment as humans. Mrs. Collins said, “They also cover the earths major systems.” Students may participate in labs, and multiple projects that require teamwork.
During a recent field trip, Students in Environmental Science like Danner, visited the Brevard Zoo. Students became “field researchers”, as they analyzed different types of animals. Danner said, “Rather than just admiring the animals, we got to take a closer look at their behaviors.” Danner also said, “This class allows us students to be able to engage in our learning skills, as we go on these field trips, and retain memories and new information that they can keep throughout life.” Soon, students will continue exploring new things in the class, and outside of the classroom. Mrs. Collins said, “Students can look forward to another fun field trip to the Barrier Island, on April 22nd.” Students will need to have proper attendance to attend. Danner said, “Through the year, I have put in work, and stayed on task.” “I am motivated by the field trips we get to take.”

Danner said, “This trip made all the hardwork worthit, as I was able to have fun while learning at the same time.” Students have took everything they learned inside the classroom and took it with them to the zoo.
