Girls Flag Football Recap by Aubrianna Pressley and Anabella Mulligan
The Melbourne High School girls flag football team showed strong teamwork and determination throughout the season. The team practiced consistently at Melbourne High School and worked on improving both their skills and communication. Players focused on building chemistry and pushing each other to improve. Their hard work helped them grow as a team and perform better during games and practices.
Senior Janessa Palmer said the team’s effort played a big role in their improvement. “We worked hard every practice and pushed each other to do better,” Palmer said. She also explained that the team stayed focused while keeping a positive attitude. “Everyone had an important role, and support from teammates made a big difference,” Palmer added. Her leadership helped the team stay motivated throughout the season.
Carissa Viglianco shared that teamwork and communication helped the team improve. “We all wanted to win, but we also wanted to have fun and play as a team,” Viglianco said. She explained that better communication on the field helped players perform better during games. “We kept improving by working together and staying focused,” Viglianco added. The team continued to build on their success as the season progressed.
A strong performance by Haizel Hall and Parola led the Melbourne High School flag football team through a competitive stretch of games as the season neared its end. Both players played key roles in recent matchups, showing leadership and determination on the field. Hall contributed with consistent plays and strong communication, while Parola added speed and awareness that helped shift momentum during crucial moments. The team’s effort reflected their growth and teamwork throughout the season. Their performances stood out as major factors in the team’s success.
Hall said she stayed focused by trusting her teammates and preparing for every game. “I just tried to stay locked in and do my job for the team,” Hall said. She explained that one of her favorite moments came from a close win where the team worked together under pressure. Parola also emphasized the importance of teamwork and confidence during games. “We always have each other’s backs, and that helps us push through tough situations,” Parola said.
Both athletes said the season helped them grow on and off the field while building strong bonds with their teammates. Parola noted that the experience taught her responsibility and perseverance. “This season showed me how important it is to stay positive and keep working hard,” she said. Hall added that the support from teammates and coaches made a big difference in her performance. As the season came to a close, both players hoped their team would be remembered for its effort, improvement, and unity.
