Organized and Ready: AP World History Exam Prep by Paige Allen
With the AP World History exam approaching on May 8th, ninth grade students were working hard to prepare. Students like Jill Farrell and Autumn Rose used different strategies to study and stay organized. Jill Farrell, a student in Mr. Woodbury’s class, had been using practice materials to review. “I’ve been doing the practice tests and SAQs he has put out for us to do,” said Farrell. She also explained that staying organized helped her manage her time, saying she was “well organized and keep[s] a planner.”
Rose had also been preparing consistently over the past few weeks. “I started studying progressively over the last 2 weeks,” Rose said. She preferred working with others, explaining that she liked “to work in groups and take good notes as a team.”
Both students shared that some parts of the course had been more difficult than others. The students are studying mainly industrial revolutions, from years around 1200-present, students seem to have been preparing and studying the last 2-3 weeks. Farrell noted that “the first few units were a bit harder to grasp,” while Rose said that the “DBQ writing portion… seems the hardest.” Despite the challenges, both students felt ready for the exam and continued reviewing important material as the test date got closer.
