New Season! New Beginnings! by Issy Perez

The first fundraiser of the dance season took place, and it won’t be the last! For this upcoming year, the Miracles branched out and tried new ways to raise money. The dancers held a car wash, and many said they enjoyed it and that it was fun team bonding. For returning dancers, it was a brand‑new experience. It was especially memorable for the new dancers, as it marked their first fundraiser as Mel‑High

Kamiyah King a current sophomore, reflected on her experience this year with gratitude and excitement, noting that “We’ve done a fundraiser and it was really fun!” and sharing how “We’ve had a couple practices that have really stretched me and gave me space to get to know my fellow miracles through laughs and dance tips from them and the coaches!” As she continued growing, King noted, “I see myself doing way better than when I started, having closer relationships with the other girls and coaches, and being more confident in my abilities of dance.” Looking ahead, King added that “I think I will start improving during camp and by the end of summer break,” hopeful for even more progress.

Nylah Nabors shared how meaningful her support system has been throughout the tryout process, expressing that “my mom has been the most helpful during my tryout,” always encouraging her to stay focused and believe in herself. As she continues to grow alongside her teammates, Nabors spoke with confidence about her future, saying, “I see myself becoming a great dancer in the future on this team,” a goal that motivates her through every practice. Looking ahead with optimism, she added that “I think I will start to see myself improving a little more into this team,” hopeful that continued effort and dedication will help her strengthen her skills and deepen her place within the group.

The fundraiser wrapped up with strong momentum, and it set a lively tone for the season ahead. Contributed with enthusiasm and teamwork, creating a positive experience for both new and returning members. The dancers stayed engaged, supported one another, and built excitement for the rest of the season. It marked a meaningful start for all team members as they moved into the year’s fundraising efforts.
