Mrs. Marcey Sperr

Marcey Sperr graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of South Florida while under the studio instruction of cellist Scott Kluksdahl and bassoonist John Kehayas and is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. In 2002, she began her teaching career in Hillsborough County as an elementary music specialist and later moved to Connecticut to teach high school and middle school band at Valley Regional Schools in Deep River, while also teaching cello at the Community Music School in Essex. After moving back to Brevard in 2007, she has served as the Titusville High School feeder chain string specialist for the last eighteen years, coordinating and teaching an accomplished, comprehensive string program within six schools, grades five through twelve.

Throughout her eighteen year tenure in Titusville, the orchestra programs at the middle and high schools have tripled in size, both earning the FMEA enrollment awards three times and consistently earning superior ratings at district and state MPA and solo and ensemble. Titusville High School and Apollo Elementary have been named Fine Arts Model Schools during her tenure. Mrs. Sperr is an approved FOA adjudicator having served many MPA panels as well as solo and ensembles throughout the state since 2016 and is the coordinator for the 7-8 All State Orchestra as well as the chair of the FOA mentoring committee. In addition, she was appointed as the 2019 Pinellas All County Middle School Orchestra and 2021 Brevard North Area All County High School Orchestra clinician, the 2025 Orange County 2025 Elementary All County clinician, and will be conducting the 2025 Middle School Honors All County in Orange. She has coordinated and conducted several Brevard County Elementary String Festivals since 2007.

She is excited to teach in the Viera community starting in the fall of 2025 at Viera Middle School.

Mrs. Sperr maintains an active private cello studio where her students regularly earn superior ratings at district and state solo and ensemble as well as earn spots in All-County and All-State ensembles. Marcey lives in Mims with her husband, a fellow Brevard music educator, and their two children, Aiden and Ava, who are themselves All-State musicians.
