Brevard County Public Schools is working in partnership with Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and BusPatrol to protect every student in Brevard County from reckless drivers who pass the school bus.

According to a report by Florida Department of Education, every day in Florida, more than 11,000 motorists illegally pass stopped school buses, putting students at risk as they travel to and from school. These illegal passing incidents can result in tragedy.

It’s crucial that we work together to reduce reckless driving around school buses and make roads safer for our students.

This School Bus Safety Program is designed to reduce reckless driving around school buses and create safer roads for everyone in our community. Data shows that over 90% of first-time violators do not commit a second offense – a strong indicator that the program has the potential to change driver behavior.
