Program Models

Step FOURward VPK (Title I)

  • The StepFOURward VPK program is for 540 instructional hours.

  • Classrooms are comprised of 20 basic educational students attending a Title I school.

  • This model is staffed with a VPK teacher and instructional assistant.

  • Open to eligible students that reside in the attendance area of the StepFOURward VPK

    school with the possibility of a lottery process should enrollment exceed class capacity.

Blended VPK

  • The Blended VPK program is for 540 instructional hours.

  • Classrooms are comprised of 10 basic educational students and 8 exceptional educational students. The VPK students are role models for students with special needs as they work and learn together. ESE students are identified as having delays in cognitive development, language, motor and/or social emotional skills.

  • This model is staffed with a teacher and two instructional assistants.

  • Open to all eligible students with the possibility of a lottery process should enrollment exceed class capacity.

High School VPK

  • The High School VPK program is for 540 instructional hours.

  • Classrooms are comprised of 20 basic educational students.

  • This model is staffed with a teacher and instructional assistant.

  • Open to eligible students with the possibility of a lottery process should enrollment exceed class capacity.

Head Start VPK

  • The Head Start program is for 540 instructional hours.

  • Classrooms are comprised of 17–20 students.

  • This model is staffed with a teacher and two instructional assistants.

  • Open to 3- and 4-year-old children.

Summer VPK

  • The Summer VPK program is for 300 instructional hours.

  • Classrooms are comprised of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 students.

  • This model is staffed with two VPK teachers.

  • Open to eligible students who have not attended a previous school year VPK program.
