BLAST
Brevard Learners Achieving Successful Transition
BLAST is designed to meet the needs of Exceptional Education students who are 18-22 years of age and have met all requirements for graduation and have deferred their diploma. LEAP
Learner Empowerment through Agency Partnerships
LEAP is a community-based, nonpaid internship program (4 hours/day, up to 2 days/week) for young adults in the B.L.A.S.T. Program. Interns must have a desire to work within the community and gain competitive employment skills. There is an application and interview process required. Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH is a collaborative partnership between Health First, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Brevard Public Schools. Project SEARCH is a one-year nonpaid internship for students with disabilities, aged 18-22, who have deferred their high school diploma and are a client of Vocational Rehabilitation. The program is designed for interns and families who are committed to competitive employment after one year. Interns will participate in three work rotations throughout the year to explore a variety of career paths within the hospital setting. Site locations include Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, and Viera Hospital. Applications are available during the second semester of each school year. Coordination to Community Programs
Community and agency programs may be available for young adults aged 22 and over who have accepted their high school diploma.
