Students at Ribbon cutting for new Diesel Tech program at Eau Gallie High

Brevard Public Schools proudly celebrated the official ribbon cutting for Eau Gallie High School’s Diesel Technology Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program, a hands-on initiative designed to prepare students for high-demand, high-wage careers that keep Florida’s economy moving.

This program equips students with practical skills in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and systems using state-of-the-art Consulab technology and an ASE-aligned curriculum. Students gain expertise in critical areas such as truck brakes, drive trains, and electrical systems—skills that translate directly into careers in transportation, construction, agriculture, and marine industries.

Why It Matters:
Florida’s economy depends on a skilled workforce to support sectors that drive growth and infrastructure. By investing in career education, Brevard Public Schools is ensuring students graduate ready to fill essential roles that strengthen local businesses and reduce workforce shortages.

Community-Driven Partnerships:
This program thrives thanks to strong collaboration with industry leaders like Ring Power (Caterpillar) and East Coast Diesel, who provide internships and job placement opportunities. These partnerships ensure students don’t just learn—they launch careers.

A Model for Education and Industry Alignment:
The Diesel Technology Program exemplifies how public education and private enterprise can work together to meet workforce needs, reduce reliance on out-of-state labor, and keep Florida competitive.
