Mrs Kirk My son, son-in-law, and nephew all serve in Navy Special Operations, while my adopted son, Khalleal, is a MARSOC Marine currently deployed. My nephew is also training for Special Operations in the Air Force.We are especially proud of our military children. My granddaughter shows incredible resilience and bravery as she shares her father, as he is away training so often. My niece, Tori Vanacore, was honored as the National Military Child of the Year 2026, representing the Coast Guard ~ an incredible and well-deserved recognition. Her brother, Dominic, is following in their mother’s footsteps and is currently training to become a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. Service runs strong in our family. My sister, Jaime Vanacore, made history as the last female Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer, and no female has made it through the schooling since her. She served for 20 years before retiring in 2023, and my brother-in-law is a retired Coast Guard Chief.
