Ms. Morgan Which locations have you or your family lived in because of your military connection? Turkey, Louisiana, Florida, Okinawa (Japan), New Mexico, and Nevada What lessons has being part of a military-connected family taught you ? I'm so fortunate to have been exposed to different cultures and geographical areas. I learned how to both entertain myself and make friends in new places. I have been "the new kid" many times in my life. Living overseas as an adult was fantastic as I got to travel and meet wonderful people in other countries.
Mrs Kirk My son, son-in-law, and nephew all serve in Navy Special Operations, while my adopted son, Khalleal, is a MARSOC Marine currently deployed. My nephew is also training for Special Operations in the Air Force. We are especially proud of our military children. My granddaughter shows incredible resilience and bravery as she shares her father, as he is away training so often. My niece, Tori Vanacore, was honored as the National Military Child of the Year 2026, representing the Coast Guard ~ an incredible and well-deserved recognition. Her brother, Dominic, is following in their mother’s footsteps and is currently training to become a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. Service runs strong in our family. My sister, Jaime Vanacore, made history as the last female Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer, and no female has made it through the schooling since her. She served for 20 years before retiring in 2023, and my brother-in-law is a retired Coast Guard Chief.
I love watching all sorts of sports and cooking competitions. My favorite sports to watch are soccer, football, hockey, and MMA. My favorite cooking competitions are Tournament of Champions, Top Chef, Guy’s Grocery Games, and Flavortown Food Fight. If I were given a superlative in high school, it would have been for “Most Social.” My parents were called in for a parent/teacher conference because my Latin teacher said that I was a social butterfly. If I could have grown up in any decade, I would have to say the 1950s. I love the music, cars, and clothes

Mrs Clay My husband served 2 tours in Iraq. My brother-in-law is a marine living in Okinawa and has lived in California, North Carolina, and Virginia. My nephews have lived in Kuwait, Germany, Alabama, New York, and Utah as part of the Army and Air Force. I was pregnant through much of my husband's deployment. The physical separation pushed us to communicate more effectively and work through problems as a team. We also learned to practice patience and positivity.
