Mrs. Merrick, our School Counselor, graduated from Florida State University in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Special Education. In 2004, she completed her Master's degree in School Guidance & Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.

   She has been at Ronald McNair Magnet School since September 2006. When she first started in the school system, she thought that she would never want to be anywhere else but at the elementary level! Now she thinks 'middle school is the best!!' She loves working with students and helping them get ready for the next level. She is the ESE and 504 Contact for Ronald McNair and also loves working with the AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) and Leadership Academy students. 

   In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, cheering on her Florida State Seminoles, and reading.

Rhonda Kendle has over 22 years of service to Brevard Public Schools. She spent five years as a substitute teacher before becoming an Instructional Assistant, where she worked with students with disabilities for 17 years. Rhonda now serves as the Guidance Clerk at McNair Middle School. She feels at home here and enjoys meeting the needs of students, families, and school staff.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping, cooking, and relaxing with a good book by the beach.  Go Challengers!
